About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Multimedia Producer to join Samsara’s Global Communications Content Team as the production lead for creative projects from resourcing to completion. The person in this role is a strong storyteller who will help drive brand awareness and build connections with our customers, employees, partners, and peers. The Senior Multimedia Producer will be a key leader on the newly formed Content Team as a subset of the Global Communications Team to build and execute the creative strategy for our team, focusing across a variety of formats: social-first videos featuring customer profiles and spotlights, product explainers and demos, employee features and talent brand assets, corporate sizzles, data stories, b-roll packages, and general communications content. We are looking for someone who is an innovative creative with a strong track record in developing and scaling compelling content series. The ideal candidate will be able to balance strong storytelling and operational rigor. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adjusting well to shifting deadlines and priorities. They should be eager to learn and willing to take on different tasks – and above all else be a resourceful, solution-oriented collaborator. A portfolio is required to be considered.

  • Conceptualize and storyboard video stories that are compelling, engaging, clear, and stay true to the brand identity, as well as our company values.   • Lead and shape the creative production process and build our multimedia strategy, partnering with other members of the Content Team to optimize stories for impact across our channels. You can prioritize projects and resources and you are comfortable overseeing projects from resourcing to final delivery.
  • Manage approval process under the Senior Director of Content Strategy to ensure all required stakeholders have reviewed and approved projects.
  • Interface with vendors, creative agencies, and freelancers.
  • Capture content in the field and serve as a brand ambassador. Interview and build connections with key stakeholders and members of our customer and partner communities. You are a representative of our brand and can quickly adapt in the field to maintain strong relationships and capture the best content. 
  • Ingest and back-up raw footage captured in the field, along with any sourced materials. This includes organizing, labeling, and distributing to the appropriate repositories.
  • Partner with the Video Editor to create b-roll stringouts and clean question-to-answer interview exports for transcription; and to provide storyboard direction and ensure content quality on color, sound, and format. 
  • Collaborate with various teams in Global Communications to plan and script projects. There will also be consistent cross-functional collaboration with teams outside of Global Communications, including Marketing, Product, Recruiting, and external vendors.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise. This may include educating stakeholders on the production process as required.
  • Build and refine our production processes. Develop our production process and meet regularly with the broader Content Team and Global Communications team to continue evolving it for efficiency and impact.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 10 years experience in video production and project management; agency experience a plus.
  • 8 years with proficiency in Adobe Premier or other editing tools; basic proficiency in Adobe After Effects and working with motion graphics files (lower thirds, transitions, animated graphical elements).
  • Strong understanding of storytelling over a variety of formats: social, documentary, commercials, explainers, highlight reels, podcasts, photography. Familiarity with files types and deliverables for creative projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of codecs, transcoding, and proxies.
  • Ability to quickly interpret and adapt to feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational & communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work and thrive in both independent and group scenarios.
  • Great at managing relationships and a positive attitude.
  • Travel required up to 25%.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Video capture experience.
  • Experience working in tech.
  • Experience working in a project management tool like Airtable.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$110,500$143,000 CAD
