Maria Benavente Perez is an experienced professional in cybersecurity and technology risk management, currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer Technology Risk & Cybersecurity Director at Santander Digital Services since November 2018. In this role, Maria oversees cybersecurity and technology risk for Santander Global Tech, reporting directly to the CEO and the CISO of Central Services. Prior to this position, Maria was the Head of Governance, Risk & Control, managing internal IT and cybersecurity audits alongside compliance with various regulations. With a background in internal auditing and control from Produban - Grupo Santander and experience at EY focusing on compliance projects, Maria brings a strong foundation in information security and risk management, supported by an academic background in Computer Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
