Jakub Kohout

Jakub Kohout is the current Finance Director at Seedrs. Prior to this, they were a Consultant at MicroLoan Foundation from February 2015 to May 2015. Before that, they worked at Ernst & Young from August 2009 to January 2016, where they were a Manager in the FS Assurance, Banking and Capital Markets division.

At Ernst & Young, Jakub was responsible for leading teams of associates and executives, and reporting directly to Partners. Jakub gained extensive analytical skills and experience in credit risk, loan book and impairment reviews, and valuations and risk purposes. Jakub was also responsible for coordinating with other EY divisions/sector teams, as well as offshore and international project teams. In addition to their assurance work, Jakub also counselled Manager to three Associates and had vast experience in delivering both technical and soft skill trainings within the firm.

At MicroLoan Foundation, Jakub was responsible for setting up the procurement and internal audit departments, introducing Best Practice in fixed asset management, fleet management and financial reporting areas, revision of the Operations Manual, review of the annual financial accounts and monthly management accounts, and training of local staff in Excel, accounting treatments and the management of accounting records.

As the current Finance Director at Seedrs, Jakub is responsible for the overall financial management of the company. This includes overseeing the finance team, preparing financial reports, forecasting future business needs, providing advice on financial planning and investment strategies, and liaising with external partners such as investors, banks and auditors.

Jakub Kohout's educational career includes studying for a Chartered Accountancy at BPP College, a Bachelor's degree in Management with International Business at Royal Holloway, University of London, and an International Bac at The English College in Prague - Anglické gymnázium. Jakub also has a certification from Chartered Accountants in Chartered Accountant, CA.
