Anurag Gupta

Anurag Gupta is currently the CEO and founder of Shoreline, a company they started in 2011. Prior to that, they were with Amazon Web Services from May 2011 to December 2018, where they served as Vice President. In this role, they oversaw a number of analytical and relational database services, including Athena, Data Pipeline, EMR, Glue, LakeFormation, Managed Blockchain, and Redshift. Anurag was also responsible for relational databases such as Aurora for MySQL and PostgreSQL and RDS for MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.

Before joining Amazon Web Services, Anurag Gupta was the founder and CTO of Interlace Systems from October 2001 to October 2007. Anurag founded the company seeing an opportunity to bring OLAP-style planning to sales and operations functions within large enterprises. Anurag was the initial CEO, hiring the development team, designing the company's core IP, building a V1 product, selling three customers, and closing the initial venture round with Accel Partners and New Enterprise Associates. Post-funding, they stepped into the CTO and VP Engineering role at Interlace, delivering a number of significant product releases, developing the offshore development team, and helping to close sales with key customers. Anurag was the sponsor for the company's largest customer relationship, personally closing over 3M in business with them. The company was acquired by Oracle in 2007.
