Lucas Msimanga

Lucas Msimanga serves as the Executive Vice President and Head of Processing for Southern Africa at Sibanye-Stillwater since October 2025, a major global producer of platinum, palladium, and rhodium, as well as a significant gold producer. Prior to this role, Lucas held the position of Group Director of Operations at Bushveld Minerals from June 2022 to October 2025, focusing on primary vanadium production. Earlier experience includes serving as Vice President of Operations at South32 from May 2015 to June 2022, overseeing a diverse range of mining and metals operations. Lucas's extensive background in the mining sector also includes significant tenures at BHP in various capacities from March 1998 to April 2015 and at Rio Tinto as a Plant Metallurgist from March 1995 to February 1998, contributing to large-scale aluminium production and heavy minerals sands extraction.
