Matheus Soares

Matheus Soares is an HVDC Studies Engineer at Siemens Energy since June 2022, previously holding the position of HVDC Control and Protection System Engineer. Prior experience includes serving as a Power System Engineer at National Grid ESO from August 2021 to May 2022, where responsibilities involved the evaluation of HVDC models and grid modeling using DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Matheus worked as a Power System Studies Engineer at ONS - Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico from April 2019 to July 2021, focusing on HVDC multi-infeed studies and large-scale PSCAD grid modeling. Earlier, Matheus was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Laboratory of Power Electronics and Medium Voltage Applications from September 2017 to March 2019, engaging in research and modeling related to power electronics. Matheus holds a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a Technician degree in Electrotechnics from Cefet/RJ.
