Jens Merkel

Jens Merkel has been with Siemens Healthineers since October 1999, currently serving as CFO and Executive Director of Epocal Inc., leading the Global Center of Excellence for Blood Gas Testing. Jens has held various roles, including Special Project Manager, where responsibilities included the rapid deployment of the CLINITEST® Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test in the US. Additional positions include Interim CFO of the Canadian Sales and Service Organization, and Interim Site Head, successfully managing the organization through the COVID-19 crisis and transitions between leadership. Jens also served as Vice President Finance, Director of Finance, and Controller across multiple business lines, demonstrating expertise in financial management, strategic partnerships, and operational transparency. Early career experiences include trainee roles and IT training at Siemens and military service as a Corporal in the 1st German Mountain Division. Jens holds a Diplom Betriebswirt (FH) in Business Administration, Finance, and Controlling from Coburg University.
