Lisa Merritt

Lisa Merritt serves as the Director of Development for Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, overseeing the development department and promoting ethics and excellence in research since September 2021. With extensive experience in higher education development, Lisa previously held the role of Executive Director of Development at the University of Miami College of Engineering, where a strategic fundraising plan was crafted to reach a $75 million capital campaign goal. Prior positions include Senior Director of Development for the School of Architecture at the University of Miami, and Director of Development for the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts at Florida International University. Lisa's career also features significant roles in arts organizations, including Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Perez Art Museum Miami and Director of Major Gifts at Florida Grand Opera. With a foundation in electrical engineering, Lisa earned a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and holds a Master’s in Engineering/Industrial Management from Florida International University.
