Eerik Hantsoo

VP, Equipment Engineering at Sila Nanotechnologies

Eerik Hantsoo is the VP of Equipment Engineering at Sila Nanotechnologies. He leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers that design, build, and iterate on Sila’s reactors and custom characterization tools. Prior to Sila, Eerik co-invented and scaled a new method of manufacturing silicon wafers at 1366 Technologies, drawing on IP licensed from his Master’s thesis at MIT. Earlier in his career Eerik designed equipment for pilot thin-film solar manufacturing at Nanosolar. In college Eerik led the Stanford Solar Car Project to a first-place finish in the North American Solar Challenge. Eerik holds a BS from Stanford and an MS from MIT, both in Mechanical Engineering. He has co-authored four issued and two pending US patents.
