Thomas Staley

Finance Director and CFO at Sirius Minerals Plc

Thomas Staley has over 15 years of experience in finance, asset management, and corporate development. Thomas currently serves as the Finance Director and CFO at Sirius Minerals Plc.

Prior to their current role, Mr. Staley was the Head of Commercial and Risk for Origin Energy's International Development division. In this role, they provided finance, governance, and commercial transaction support for a portfolio of power and energy joint venture companies.

Before joining Origin Energy, Mr. Staley worked at Babcock & Brown as an Infrastructure and Project Finance Analyst. Thomas was responsible for structuring and executing a $600 million solar power financing, as well as a $400 million wastewater concession PPP. Thomas also restructured and managed a EUR 200 million water infrastructure portfolio.

Mr. Staley began their career at Origin Energy as a Commercial Analyst in the Corporate Development division. Thomas was responsible for providing financial analysis support for Origin Energy's acquisition of Babcock & Brown Infrastructure in 2006.

Mr. Staley is a graduate of the University of Queensland and has a Master's degree in Business Administration from INSEAD.

Thomas Staley's educational career includes completing a Company Directors Course through the Australian Institute of Company Directors, becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst through the CFA Institute, and earning a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Arts from the University of Melbourne. Thomas also attended Melbourne Grammar School.

Thomas Staley reports to Chris Fraser, Managing Director and CEO. They work with Simon Carter - Chief Development Officer, JT Starzecki - CMO, and Nicholas King - General Counsel & Secretary.
