Il-Joon Tae has a wide range of experience in the telecommunications and technology industry. Il-Joon started their career at Accenture as an ICT Competency Group Consultant and Senior Manager. Il-Joon then joined Citinet.inc, an e-commerce start-up, where they served as the CFO and CSO. After that, they worked at SK Telecom, first as a Senior Manager in Internet&Platform Business Development and Sales, and later as a Vice President in ICT Business and Corporate Management at SK Holdings. Following this, they joined SK planet as a Vice President, focusing on New Mobile Business Development and Corporate Growth Strategy. Currently, Il-Joon Tae is the Managing Director at SK Telecom, responsible for AI Robotics-Global Business Development and Sales.

Il-Joon Tae has a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Corporate Finance & Marketing from Korea University, earned between 1989 and 1994. Il-Joon also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Strategy, Finance, and Marketing from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, completed between 2001 and 2003. Il-Joon has also completed a certificate in a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD program in Behavioral Economics from Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies (aSSIST) between 2021 and 2023, and participated in the Advanced Management Program (AMP) in Business Relations and Politics at the University of North Korean Studies in 2019.
