Catherine leads planning efforts, develops strategies and designs concepts to help reactivate contaminated or underused sites by working with community residents and leaders to integrate the sites back into the neighborhood fabric. She draws from her experience in community development and landscape architecture to work through the spatial, social, economic and ecological dynamics involved in positioning these sites, often Superfund or brownfield sites, for adaptive reuse or new use in communities across the United States.

Catherine’s skills include site design, community and regional planning, GIS mapping and analysis, and charrette facilitation. Her expertise includes developing compelling urban design and graphic representations to assist communities in transforming contaminated sites and underserved neighborhoods into sustainable cultural assets.
