Mariko Flora is a Japanese-born designer currently living in Italy. Mariko graduated from Istituto Europeo di Design in 2012 with a degree in Graphic and Advertising Design. After graduation, they began their career as an assistant art director at TICIA ARIGO ADV, working on advertising projects for clients in the beauty industry. In April 2013, they left to pursue their freelance career full-time.
In their freelance work, Mariko has had the opportunity to design for a variety of clients, both in Japan and Italy. Mariko has also been involved in several personal projects, including an ongoing series of illustrations inspired by their travels.
Mariko is currently working as a designer at Sketchin, a startup that provides tools for designers and illustrators. In their free time, they enjoy exploring new cities, going on hikes, and spending time with their cat, Mia.
Mariko Flora has a Master of Science in Product Service System Design from Politecnico di Milano, an exchange semester from UNSW, and a summer course in User Experience & Intercultural Design from Tampere University of Technology. Mariko has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Design from Politecnico di Milano.
