Katie Hatfield Edstrom

Katie Hatfield Edstrom is the current Director of Communications at SMEUSA. Prior to this role, Katie held various positions at HDR, including Great Lake Region Section Manager, Strategic Communications Power Sector Lead, and Senior Strategic Communications Coordinator. Katie also served as an Assistant Professor at Creighton University and held graduate assistant positions at Ohio University and Central Michigan University. In addition, Katie has experience as Director of Operations and Programming at Gladwin Community Recreation Center and Ice Arena. Katie holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies and Rhetorical Theory from Ohio University, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Masters of Arts in Communication Studies from Central Michigan University.
