Ashanti Blaize-Hopkins has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President at the Society of Professional Journalists. Ashanti also served as a Tenured Professor of Journalism at Santa Monica College, where they developed course curriculum, advised the student-run newspaper, and contributed to the marketing committee. Ashanti Blaize-Hopkins earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Columbia University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Journalism at the University of Miami, completing their program in 2003.
