Noel Jee contributes a balance of investment acumen for evaluating life science investment opportunities, strategic advisory, and operational support skills for portfolio companies. His scientific background and strategic perspectives are essential to mission to build and transform biotech companies.

Prior to joining Sofinnova in 2021, Noel was a Principal at Illumina Ventures for several years where he led investments in tools, diagnostics, and therapeutic platforms. Noel’s time at Illumina Ventures also included 10 months operating a portfolio company in the spatial omics space. Prior to his time in venture capital, he was a management consultant at L.E.K. Consulting where he advised large and small-cap biopharma companies on a variety of strategic projects, from asset M&A to pipeline prioritization and expansion.

Noel received his PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from the University of California, San Francisco. Noel also holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and a B.S. in Neurobiology and Physiology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
