José Armando Aguirre

José Armando Aguirre was named vice president for Latin America in October 2016, after joining Solenis the prior year as regional director of corporate accounts.

Before Solenis, he spent 25 years with Ashland Inc., where he served as regional leader South America for Ashland Performance Materials, and regional director of Water Treatment and Applications, New Products for Ashland Water Technology. He also served in numerous management positions with Ashland in the commercial pulp and paper and water segments.

During his career, José Armando has acquired significant experience in general management; product introduction and market penetration; strategic and sales plan preparation and implementation; multi-functional team management; oversight of large bids; project leadership; and management of complex integration processes.

A native of Brazil, he holds a degree in chemical engineering; a post-graduate diploma in petrochemical processes from SOGESTA (ENI Group)/University of Bologna, Italy; and a Global Executive MBA from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
