John McLennan Smith

John McLennan Smith is an experienced financial professional currently serving as the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis at Somerset House since September 2025. Prior to this role, John held various positions including Head of Finance and Financial Controller at the English National Ballet from March 2021 to August 2025, and Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Accountant at the Natural History Museum from April 2016 to February 2021. John began his career as a Senior Finance Officer at Dulwich Picture Gallery from February 2014 to March 2016 and as a Finance Officer at Help Musicians from April 2011 to January 2014. John is a fully qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), having completed respective qualifications between 2016-2018 and 2011-2013.
