Shannon Totten

Shannon Totten, CPCU, currently serves as Executive Vice President and Head of Retail Excess Casualty for the North American Region at Sompo, a position held since March 2013. In this role, Shannon leads and supports Retail Excess Casualty teams in the US and Bermuda, focusing on complex commercial industry classes and overseeing North American strategy, emerging risks, and relationship management. Prior to Sompo, Shannon was the Excess Casualty Practice Leader at Endurance from July 2003 to August 2022, where responsibilities included underwriting strategy and team training for complex Fortune 1000 risk profiles. Shannon's previous experience includes senior roles in excess casualty underwriting at Starr Excess Liability Insurance Ltd. and American Home (AIG), as well as a brokerage position at Sedgwick Global. Shannon holds a BBA in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business.
