Douglas Newton is the current Chief Medical Officer at SonderMind. Douglas has also previously worked as the National Senior Medical Director for Behavioral Health at UnitedHealth Group and as the National Physician Lead for Thriving Schools at Kaiser Permanente. In addition, they have also worked as the National Clinical Lead for Pediatric Mental Health and Wellness at Kaiser Permanente Care Management Institute and as the Chief of Integrated Behavioral Health and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG).

Douglas Newton's educational career began with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Douglas then attended the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth for their residency in General Psychiatry. After completing their residency, they returned to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program. Douglas also earned a Master of Public Health in International/Global Studies from the Yale School of Public Health. Finally, they received their Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

They are on a team with Shouvick Mukherjee - CTO, Corley Hughes - CFO, and Brannan Schell - COO. Douglas Newton reports to Mark Frank, Co-Founder & CEO.
