Renae Rutherford

Renae Rutherford is an experienced professional in climate change and organizational transformation, currently serving as the Group Manager for Climate Change at South32 since January 2024, overseeing the group's climate strategy and progress towards commitments. Previously, Renae spent over 16 years at Rio Tinto in various senior roles, including Senior Manager of the Energy & Climate Change Centre of Excellence, where innovative solutions for carbon footprint challenges were developed. Renae also held positions as Senior Principal for Group Technical Capability, focusing on transforming technical teams into a learning organization, and as APAC Lead for Integrated Operations, emphasizing enhanced planning and execution in mining operations. Renae's earlier career includes managerial roles at KPMG Advisory and Western Power as a Graduate Sustainable Engineer. Renae holds an MBA in Change Management and has multiple qualifications in project and change management.
