Andy Carrasco

VP, Strategy & Engagement, & Chief Environmental Officer at Southern California Gas Co

Andy Carrasco is vice president of strategy and engagement, and Chief Environmental Officer for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), a Sempra Energy regulated California utility. He is responsible for environmental services and developing and delivering the information that helps meet customers’ energy needs and supports state environmental and social policy objectives.

Carrasco leads the company’s energy policy and strategy, which includes issues management for balanced energy, energy choice, affordability, resiliency and reliability. Previously, he was SoCalGas’ director of regional public affairs.

Since joining SoCalGas in 2001 as a commercial and industrial account executive, Carrasco has held roles of increasing responsibility in the commercial and industrial services, supply management and external affairs areas. Prior to joining SoCalGas, Carrasco was a mechanical engineer with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

Carrasco currently serves on the board of the American Red Cross - LA Region, Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University, Southeast Community Development Corporation, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes Museum and USC Executive Education at the Price School. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California State University, Northridge.
