Project Coordinator - Oscar Renda Contracting of Canada at Southland Holdings

Shinjan Sikdar has an extensive work experience in the construction industry. Shinjan started their career as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at Bridge and Roof Company (India) Limited in November 2010. Shinjan then worked as a Construction Engineer on various projects, including the construction of foundation for two LPG tanks and two turbine generator foundations, where they were responsible for quality control and documentation.

In January 2015, Shinjan was promoted to Assistant Construction Manager and was involved in the construction of a gas-insulated electrical substation facility. Shinjan also served as an Assistant Construction Manager for the construction of an effluent treatment plant, acid oil plant, and edible oil refinery. In both roles, they led a team of engineers, provided site details, and reviewed pay applications.

In May 2019, Shinjan worked as a Field Intern at GLF Construction Corporation, where they assisted the project engineer and superintendent with various tasks, such as site layouts and concrete pouring.

Most recently, Shinjan worked at Southland Holdings as a Field Engineer on the widening of Interstate Highway 10 project and as a Project Coordinator on the North End Sewage Treatment Plant upgrade project. In both roles, they supervised on-site activities, reviewed drawings, and ensured compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

Shinjan's work experience demonstrates their expertise in project coordination, supervision, quality control, and safety management.

Shinjan Sikdar, CMIT, obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Construction Engineering from North Carolina State University, during the period of 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2010, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Civil Engineering at Bhilai Institute of Technology (BIT), Durg. In addition to their educational background, Shinjan has also acquired additional certifications. In January 2020, they obtained an OSHA-30 hour certification from ClickSafety. Furthermore, in February 2019, they earned the Construction Manager In Training certification from CMAA North Carolina Chapter.
