Eric Updyke

Chief Executive Officer at Spirent

Eric Updyke began their work experience in 1993 at AT&T as a National Account Manager. Eric then worked their way up to Division Manager of Network Engineering and eventually became a Vice President, responsible for Network Engineering for the entire wireless network. In this role, they managed annual budgets of over $1 billion and oversaw the launch of 3G.

In 2005, Updyke joined Nokia Siemens Networks, where they held various leadership roles, including Head of Major Network Operators and Head of AT&T Customer Business Team.

Updyke joined Amdocs in 2010, initially serving as the President of the USA Division, overseeing a $500 million annual P&L. Eric was later promoted to President of the North America Division, where they managed a team of over 500 employees and was responsible for a $1 billion annual P&L. Eric also served as the Group President for Global Services, reporting directly to the CEO and being part of the Executive Management Committee.

Most recently, Updyke became the CEO of Spirent Communications in 2019. In this role, they are leading transformative growth and aims to make Spirent the leading partner for innovative technology test and assurance solutions.

Eric Updyke completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1988. Eric later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, completing it in 1989.
