Rachel McEwen

Rachel McEwen has extensive experience in sustainability and strategic roles within the energy sector, currently serving as Chief Sustainability Officer at SSE plc since May 2007. McEwen has also held various leadership positions at SSE plc, including Director of Sustainability and Head of Sustainable Development. In addition, McEwen is a Commissioner at the Just Transition Commission Scotland and a Non-Executive Director at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks since May 2016. Previous roles include Senior Special Adviser at the Scottish Executive and Senior Researcher at the Labour Resource Centre, among others. McEwen holds an M Litt. in International Political Thought from the University of St. Andrews and a BA in Economics from Abertay University.
