Nelius De Groot is the current Chief Operating Officer for Transaction Banking and FCSO at Standard Chartered Bank. Nelius has been in this role since August 2019.


Nelius has extensive experience in the banking and finance industry. Nelius previously worked at Deutsche Bank for 17 years, where they held various positions including Managing Director, Interim Chief Information Officer, and co-head of Global Technology & Operations for Corporate Banking & Securities.


In 2010, they were appointed Head of Global Client Solutions for the Global Finance and Foreign Exchange division. Nelius held this role until 2012 when they were promoted to Head of Global Transaction Banking. In 2013, they were again promoted to Head of Global Transaction Banking for the Americas region.


Nelius left Deutsche Bank in 2015 to take on the role of Non-Executive Director for Mporium. Nelius held this position until August 2019 when they joined Standard Chartered Bank.


Nelius De Groot completed a B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science from University College Dublin.


Nelius De Groot reports to Simon Cooper, CEO - Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking & CEO - Europe, Americas. They work with and Kai Fehr - Global Head of Trade.
