Svetlana Shkolnikova

Svetlana Shkolnikova is an experienced reporter currently covering defense and foreign policy issues at Stars and Stripes since February 2022. Previous roles include fellowships at POLITICO Europe and the International Center for Journalists as part of the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship, as well as participation in the Austrian-American Media Fellowship Program. Svetlana has also served as a fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives, focusing on press freedom and human rights violations, and participated in the American Political Science Association's Congressional Fellowship Program. Prior journalistic roles include reporting for The Record and North Jersey Media Group, with a BA in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
