Matthew Carter

Matthew Carter is an accomplished legal professional and community leader with extensive experience in governance and corporate counsel. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Florida A&M University and as Of Counsel for Ramos & Sparks, Carter provides legal services and strategic advice to various corporations. Additionally, Carter is a Member of the Florida Board of Governors for the State University System, overseeing the governance of Florida's public universities. With a background in the public sector, including serving as Staff Director for the Florida Senate and Chairman of the Florida Public Service Commission, Carter has also made significant contributions to the community through authorship and pastoral leadership. Educationally, Carter holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies and a J.D. from Florida State University College of Law.
