Pasha Bitz

Pasha Bitz is currently the Head of Data Engineering at Step. Prior to that, they were the Director of Engineering at Q Bio from May 2019 to August 2020. They were responsible for recruiting and leading the platform engineering team as well as product management and engineering for the health data platform. Q Bio's mission is to remove the barriers to ubiquitous, preventive medicine.

Before Q Bio, Pasha Bitz was the VP, Retail Analytics at Envestnet | Yodlee from August 2018 to April 2019. There, they were responsible for product management and engineering.

Pasha Bitz was also the Co-Founder and CTO at TXN Solutions from August 2014 to August 2018 where they were responsible for product management and engineering. TXN Solutions was acquired by Envestnet | Yodlee in August 2018.

Prior to TXN Solutions, Pasha Bitz worked as a Principal Engineer at Coupons.com from January 2014 to August 2014. As a founder, they worked directly on all parts of the business including product design, software engineering, operations and business development. They also created and launched a service that collects product opinions and recommendations from Twitter. The service finds related tweets, removes spam, analyzes sentiment and creates a structured database of everything that was said about particular products. The service is exposed as a consumer website and as widgets that can be embedded in online retail websites. The service is built with C# and ASP.NET MVC 3, Amazon Web Services (EC2, Mechanical Turk), MySQL and is deeply integrated with the Twitter API. As a contractor, Pasha Bitz also developed a marketplace for group travel on top of the Facebook platform (launching 06/2012). The product includes a sophisticated payment system using PayPal Adaptive Payments. Lastly, as a contractor, Pasha Bitz developed a fashion Facebook application that lets users create and share “closets” with friends (http://apps.facebook.com/wearitshareit/). The product is deeply integrated with the Facebook platform.

Pasha Bitz started their educational career by attending The Open University of Israel, where they studied computer science. They did not graduate from this school, but they did gain valuable knowledge in the field. After leaving The Open University of Israel, Pasha Bitz attended MAMRAM, where they studied software development. After completing their studies at MAMRAM, Pasha Bitz decided to further their education by taking Coursera courses in sequence models, deep learning specialization, convolutional neural networks, structuring machine learning projects, improving deep neural networks: hyperparameter tuning, regularization and optimization, and neural networks and deep learning. Each of these courses has helped Pasha Bitz to become a more well-rounded and knowledgeable individual in the field of computer science.
