Thomas X. Geisel

Thomas X. (Tom) Geisel serves as Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Banking President with the primary responsibility to lead the strategic and execution activities of the business. The Corporate Bank consists of traditional C&I and CRE Lending, the national Specialty Finance businesses, Treasury Management and the Underwriting and Portfolio Management support functions. Prior to his most recent appointment, Mr. Geisel served as Executive Vice President, Specialty Finance President. Before joining Sterling, Mr. Geisel was the Managing General Partner of Templar Ventures, a private equity growth fund. From 2008 - 2013, he was President, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Sun Bancorp, Inc. Preceding Sun Bancorp and beginning in 1999, Mr. Geisel held a number of executive positions within KeyCorp including Managing Director of Investment Banking, Commercial Banking Executive, and Regional President for the Northeast and Florida Regions. Mr. Geisel was employed early in his career by the US Department of Justice in various capacities domestically and overseas.
