Shazwan Shafie

Shazwan Shafie is a Research and Development Engineer at Sulzer since November 2023, responsible for leading commissioning activities at the Sulzer Chemical Pilot Plant and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues. Previously, Shazwan served as a Lead Operations Technician/DCS Operator at ExxonMobil from March 2012 to November 2023, ensuring the safe and optimal operation of an ethylene steam cracker plant. Prior experience includes working as a Chemical Process Technician at Mitsui Phenols Singapore from August 2010 to March 2012, troubleshooting operational issues and supporting plant commissioning and production activities. Shazwan holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore (2016-2021), an Advanced Diploma in Emergency Response & Incident Management from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (2008-2009), and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic (2005-2008).
