Ted McCarthy

Ted McCarthy currently serves as the Director of GMP CMC Quality Assurance at Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc., since July 2023, focusing on the consolidation and merger of multiple former U.S. entities. Previously, from October 2012 to June 2023, Ted held the role of Director of Quality Assurance at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, overseeing external manufacturing, investigations, and the modernization of quality systems. Ted's extensive experience also includes roles as Associate Director of Quality Assurance at UPM Pharmaceuticals, and leadership positions such as Vice President and Senior Director of Quality Assurance. Earlier in his career, Ted worked as a Research Associate at Procter & Gamble, and held various chemist positions at companies including Alpharma and Wyeth. Ted holds a BS in Chemistry from Loyola University Maryland and has undertaken graduate studies in Organic Chemistry at Florida State University.
