David Vandewater is the President and CEO at Summit BHC, where they lead efforts to develop and operate a network of behavioral health hospitals and addiction treatment centers. With over three decades in health care, they previously served as CEO of Ardent Health Services, transforming it into one of the largest private hospital operators in the nation, and as President and COO at Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation, where they helped it become the world's largest healthcare organization. Vandewater has been recognized as one of Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Influential People and was awarded the Mike Bromberg Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. Additionally, they are currently pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
