Sheila Hernandez

Sheila Hernandez joined Summit in 1987 as a part-time, marketing, student intern while completing her undergraduate degree at the University of New Mexico. After earning her MBA degree and assuming a full-time position, Hernandez proceeded to take on the roles of Marketing Coordinator, Director of Marketing and Vice President of Marketing. Hernandez also led Summit’s Internet presence, mobile app development, master product data management system and market data analytics program. In 2018, she was promoted to Vice President, Chief Information and Technology Officer.

Hernandez is active in the industry, serving on numerous committees and task forces of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). She has been on panel discussions at Modern Distribution Management, NAED and Imark Group conferences and events. She spent nine years on the marketing committee and is a current member of the Futures Group Task Force for Imark Group. In 2018, Hernandez was elected to the Board of Directors for IMARK Group for a three-year term, making her the second female board member in IMARK's history. She is a Gold Level graduate of NAED's Electrical Products Education Course (EPEC).

Summit's marketing efforts have earned numerous industry awards, including the Best of the Best Overall Distributor award at the 2016 and 2009 Best of the Best Marketing Awards by the Electrical Distributor (tED) Magazine. In addition, the company has been recognized many times with the IMARK Group's Marketing Excellence Award.
