Scott joined Summit Partners in 1996 and is focused primarily on the technology sector. Scott founded the firm's London office in 2001, which he managed through 2016.

Scott has made investments in -- and served as a board director for -- more than 25 companies. Currently he is a director of PrismHR and Veepee. His prior directorships include 360T Group (acquired by Deutsche Börse), Acturis Limited (acquired by Astorg), Avast (LON: AVST), Calypso Technology, DentalPro (acquired by BC Partners), Hittite Microwave Corporation (NASDAQ: HITT, later acquired by Analog Devices), Jamba! AG (acquired by VeriSign), Multifonds (acquired by Temenos), Ogone (acquired by Ingenico), SafeBoot (acquired by McAfee), Web Reservations International (acquired by Hellman & Friedman), Welltec International (acquired by Exor and 7 Industries) and Westwing Group (FRA: WEW).

Prior to Summit Partners, Scott worked as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company in the financial institutions group. He also served in a variety of U.S. federal government positions, including at the White House and Department of Justice.

Scott holds an AB in economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard University and a JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School. While at Harvard, he was Phi Beta Kappa, Captain of the Varsity Football Team and later served as Managing Editor of the Harvard Law Review. Scott is a former Elected Director of the Harvard Alumni Association and he currently serves on the Committee on University Resources, Joint Committee on Alumni Affairs and Development, and as a Director of the Harvard Varsity Club.

Scott was a Founding Trustee of the Private Equity Foundation, a leading venture philanthropy in the U.K. dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged youth, and served on its Board from 2007 to 2012. Scott is an avid cyclist and has been riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge to support cancer research since 1991. Scott holds dual citizenship in the United States and United Kingdom.
