David Rackus

David Rackus is the Senior Vice President of Application Services at Sun Life Financial. David has been with Sun Life since January 2015, and in their current role, they oversee the development and delivery of all application services for Sun Life.

Prior to their current role, David was the Vice President of Individual Insurance and Wealth IT from 2013 to 2015. In this role, they were responsible for leading the IT team that supported the Individual Insurance and Wealth businesses.

From 2008 to 2013, David was the Vice President of Group Benefits and Group Retirement IT. In this role, they led the IT team that supported the Group Benefits and Group Retirement businesses.

Before joining Sun Life, David spent 10 years at Johnson & Johnson in various IT leadership roles. David began their career at Johnson & Johnson in 1990 as a Manager of Information Management. David then became the Sr. Director of Information Technology in 1999, and eventually the Vice President of IT Services in 2003.

David has a wealth of experience in the IT industry, and they have been a driving force behind Sun Life’s success in delivering innovative and reliable application services to its clients.

David Rackus has a MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a BMath in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

David Rackus works with Cheryl Mallet - SVP, Operations, Wiktoria Kagan - AVP, Strategy & Planning - Office of the President, and Robert Dumas - President & CEO, Sun Life Financial Quebec. David Rackus reports to Jacques Goulet, President, Sun Life Financial Canada.
