James Phillis is the current CEO of SMEC Australia and New Zealand at Surbana Jurong Private Limited. James was previously the Chief Operating Officer of SMEC Australia & New Zealand from September 2017 to August 2018. Phillis has a long history with the company, dating back to when it was founded in 1949. James has been with SMEC for over 5,400 people and has worked within a global network of over 75 offices across Australia, Asia, Africa and North and South America. Phillis is committed to sustainable business practices and embedding a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness in all areas of the company.
James Phillis has completed a Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a SEP 2006 from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Southern Cross University, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Sydney.
