Markku Varis

Markku Varis is the current President of Sweco Finland. Prior to this position, they were the CEO of Finnmap Consulting Oy from January 1993 to December 2014. From October 2008 to August 2011, they were the Toimialajohtaja, Rakennetekniikka at FMC Group. From January 1986 to December 1993, they were the Osastopäällikkö at Finnmap Oy. Lastly, from January 1982 to December 1986, they were a Rakennesuunnittelija at Insinööritoimisto Kaista & Sebbas Oy.

Markku Varis studied at the Tampere University of Technology, where they earned a degree in Talonrakennustekniikka (Building Technology). Markku worked for the university for over 50 years, until their retirement in 2018.

Markku Varis reports to Åsa Bergman, CEO. They are on a team with Olof Stålnacke - CFO, Marcela Sylvander - Chief Communications Officer, and Rasmus Nord - President, Sweco Norway.
