Tryggve Ljung

Tryggve Ljung is an experienced healthcare professional currently serving as Vice President of Scientific Affairs at Swedish Match since December 2017. Prior to this role, Ljung held the position of Head of Immunology and Biotherapeutics at AbbVie from August 2016 to December 2017 and served as Medical Director at MSD from November 2009 to July 2016, where Ljung was also Chief Medical Officer for Sweden and a member of the Swedish Leadership team. Ljung's previous experience includes roles as Medical Director and Medical Affairs Manager at Schering-Plough and as a Medical Manager at Otsuka. From August 1991 to April 2002, Ljung worked as a Senior Consultant at Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and an MD from Karolinska Institutet, complemented by an Executive MBA from Handelshögskolan and current studies for a Docent/Associate Professor in Gastroenterology at Uppsala University.
