Engineering at Synapse

Nathaniel Niosco is currently an engineering at Synapse. Nathaniel was previously the backend team lead at Synapse, where they were responsible for maintaining and improving the interchange payment software responsible for 2 million real-time user transactions in 2020 worth $90 million USD. Nathaniel also built and deployed Dockerized microservices using Flask, MongoDB, and AWS EC2 to enable batch payments using MasterCard RPPS and Bill Pay Exchange services. Prior to working at Synapse, Nathaniel was a computer programmer II at the City and County of Honolulu, where they collaborated with teammates and clients to transition COBOL-based mainframe applications to JavaScript web applications. Nathaniel also wrote a NodeJS-based RESTful API for the applications and introduced best practices that comply with current ADA standards. Nathaniel has also been a teaching assistant at DevLeague and an undergraduate teaching assistant at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Nathaniel Niosco has a certificate in Full Stack Web Development from DevLeague. Nathaniel has a Master's of Science in Natural Resource Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Bachelor's of Science in Forensic Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
