David Steele

David Steele currently serves as Site Manager and Head of Engineering at Syngenta since November 2023. Prior to this role, David was the Head of Engineering, Tech Transfer, and OpEx at Astrea Bioseparations from September 2020 to June 2023, where responsibilities included overseeing the Isle of Man Site and contributions to operational excellence. David's earlier experience at Elanco from November 2017 to September 2020 included roles as Global Change Agent and Senior Director of Biotech Operations, focusing on process ownership and operations management. David also held positions at Eli Lilly and Company from June 2007 to December 2017, including Senior Director of Engineering and Director of Operations, alongside leading the Fermentation Team. David holds a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, earned between 1994 and 1998.
