Phil McGurk

Phil McGurk is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in corporate development and business development within the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as SVP and Head of Corporate Development at Takeda since March 2022, McGurk previously held the position of Head of East Coast Business Development & Acquisitions at AbbVie from June 2019 to March 2022. Prior to that, McGurk spent over 17 years at Pfizer, progressing through various roles including Business Development Lead for the Inflammation & Immunology Business Unit, where the focus was on licensing and M&A deals, as well as Executive Director, Senior Director, and other managerial positions overseeing drug safety and therapeutic agreements. McGurk's academic background includes an MBA from the University of Bradford, a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Business from Abertay University.
