Elaine Schertz

Elaine Schertz is an experienced professional in human factors research with expertise in user-centered design for medical devices. Currently serving as a Sr. Human Factors Researcher I at Tandem Diabetes Care since September 2020, Elaine specializes in user research, analyzing feedback to inform design improvements for insulin pumps. Previous roles include Human Factors Researcher II at Tandem Diabetes Care, where Elaine conducted numerous usability studies that significantly contributed to the validation of the Tandem Mobi insulin pump, and UX Design Researcher at GE Healthcare, focusing on usability testing of medical imaging software. With a solid academic background including a Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia, Elaine's research experience encompasses user interaction and software engineering, complemented by a personal connection to type 1 diabetes management.
