Katie Tennessen Hooten

Katie Tennessen Hooten has a diverse background in education and leadership, currently serving on the Board of Trustees at Desert Botanical Garden since May 2024. Hooten has been with Teach For America since May 2005, holding several significant roles including Founder & Senior Vice President of the Ignite Fellowship, Executive Director, Senior Vice President for Teacher Support & Development, and Vice President of Teacher Support and Development. Prior experience includes serving as a Kindergarten Teacher at Osborn School District from June 2002 to May 2005. Hooten holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast & Electronic Communications from Marquette University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University.
