Upahar S. has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. They started their career as a Project Trainee at Larsen & Toubro Infotech in 2008 and later worked as a Project Assistant at Xoriant in 2010. In 2011, they worked as an Application Development Intern at Ishi Systems Inc. and also served as an Undergraduate Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin.

At Ishi Systems Inc., they later became a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in DevOps and scripting for monitoring and logging. They were responsible for ensuring highly available backend infrastructure.

In 2016, Upahar S. took on the role of Lead Organizer for Startup Weekend Mumbai, where they built a core operational team. They co-founded Moment Studios in the same year and served as the Chief Product and Technology Officer. Moment Studios aimed to provide a hyperlocal short video social networking platform for vernacular users in India. They successfully acquired over 1 lakh plus users and supported multiple languages.

From 2015 to 2019, Upahar S. co-founded Of10, a boutique coworking space for millennial entrepreneurs, where they served as the Director of Digital Products. Although they are no longer actively involved in the operations, they still own equity in the company.

In early 2019, Upahar S. founded inChat, an affordable advisory platform in the Indian stock market. inChat was later acquired by Motilal Oswal and rebranded to Teji Mandi. Upahar S. became the Co-Founder and Chief Product and Technology Officer of Teji Mandi, leading a diverse team responsible for the development of consumer mobile apps, web apps, and internal tools. They also played a crucial role in B2B integrations with Motilal Oswal's Product Team and participated in key software architectural decisions.

Upahar S. completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, attending from 2007 to 2011. Afterward, they attended Dhirubhai Ambani International School from 2005 to 2007 and earned an International Baccalaureate degree with a focus on Physics HL, Chemistry HL, Math HL, English SL, French SL, and Business and Management SL. In 2023, Upahar S. pursued a Product & Growth Program at GrowthX®, specializing in Business Administration and Management, General, which ended in 2024. Additionally, Upahar S. obtained several certifications including "Digital Product Management: Modern Fundamentals" from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in May 2019, "Supply Chain Principles" from Coursera in April 2019, and "HCI Monsoon Course (in-person)" from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in June 2015.
