Joyce Chen

People Research Data Scientist at Terrain Advisors

Prior to Terrain, Joyce was a Java ETL Data Engineer at Addepar. She built data pipelines to receive, manipulate, and load financial custodial data onto the software platform. She also was a management consultant at Capital One and worked on a variety of projects like the Future of Banking with CEO Rich Fairbanks, due diligence on fintech acquisitions with Corporate Development, and identity fraud mitigation strategies with the SVP of card fraud.

Joyce graduated with a BA in Economics from Yale University. Her proudest achievement was creating an organization called SheCode as an Amy Rossborough Social Justice Fellow. SheCode taught New Haven middle and high school girls the basics of programming through Scratch and HTML/CSS. She hopes to debunk the myth that programming is intimidating and hard.

In her free time, Joyce enjoys trying street food in new cities, running along the Embarcadero, and golfing in the California sunshine. She also serves as a Youth Advisory Board Mentor at GirlVentures, an organization that creates outdoor education and leadership programming for girls around the Bay Area.
