Zachary J. Kirkhorn is Tesla’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for leading accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, M&A, tax, investor relations and internal audit. Prior to his appointment as CFO, Zachary was Vice President, Finance responsible for corporate financial planning and business operations for the company. Since joining Tesla in 2010, he has supported financial planning and execution of all major programs, including the original Roadster. Notably, he led finance for site selection and contract negotiations for Tesla’s first Gigafactory in Reno, Nevada, the deal structure for our battery manufacturing partnership with Panasonic and capital planning for the Model 3 program in both the US and China. Before Tesla, Zachary worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He earned dual B.S.E. degrees in mechanical engineering and economics from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School, as well as an M.B.A. from Harvard University.
