N.K. Anand

VP, Faculty Affairs at Texas A&M University

N.K. Anand is the current VP of Faculty Affairs at Texas A&M University. Prior to this, they served as the interim Dean, Acting Vice Chancellor, and Acting TEES Director at Texas A&M University College of Engineering from September 2011 to January 2012. N.K. was also the Associate Dean for Research at Texas A&M University College of Engineering from December 2008 to June 2010. In this role, they were responsible for interdisciplinary research programs, strategic research development, safety programs, and activities of TEES Centers and Institutes. N.K. has coordinated large scale proposal efforts and developed new Standard Administrative Procedures (SAPs) to streamline the review of centers and institutes. As needed, they adjudicate intellectual property related disputes. Dr. Anand represents the College of Engineering on various university level research committees and works on the TEES and the College Strategic Planning Committees. As the TEES Associate Director, Dr. Anand is responsible for academic programs, centers, and institutes. In addition to TEES’ statewide outreach mission it also serves as the research arm of the College of Engineering with annual research direct expenditures totaling over $85M across a wide range of research topics.

N.K. Anand has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University, and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University. N.K. is also a certified Professional Engineer from the Teaxs Society of Professional Engineers.

N.K. Anand reports to M. Katherine Banks, President. N.K. Anand works with Michael Johnson - Interim Assoc. Provost for Faculty Success & Interim Assoc. VP for Faculty Affairs, Norman Garza Jr. - VP, Government Relations & External Affairs, and Jack G. Baldauf - Vice President for Research.
