Hannah Holtz to return as press secretary

Today, the Texas College Democrats announced that Hannah Holtz of Texas Tech University will return as press secretary, reporting to Director Hector Mendez in the Communications Department.

Hannah Holtz served as press secretary during the 2020-2021 administration.

New Deputies Confirmed at TCD Executive Board Meeting

Today, the Texas College Democrats nominated and confirmed three new deputies to serve for the various departments at the Texas College Democrats. Hector Mendez, Director of Communications, nominated Andre Rezaie of The University of Texas at Austin as the new Deputy Director of Communications (for Digital) for the TCD Department of Communications. Bella Armenta, Membership Director, nominated Polina Oglesby of Texas Christian University as the new Deputy Director of Membership for the TCD Membership Department. Heavin Cecilia, Director of Programs, nominated Max Geiser of The University of Texas at Austin as as the new Deputy Director of Programs for the TCD Programs Department. All three were confirmed by the Executive Board of the Texas College Democrats.

Heavin Cecilia Nominated Director of Programs

The Texas College Democrats today announced that Heavin Cecilia has been nominated by President J.J. Martinez to serve as director of programs, filling the vacency that had existed since the last executive board election in April. Until her confirmation by the Council of the Federation, she will serve as acting director. Heavin is going into her senior year at Midwestern State University pursuing a bachelor's in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science. Currently, she is seeking to become a nonprofit & family lawyer, but her dream job is to establish a tortoise sanctuary in North Texas. Heavin currently serves as the Director of Engagement for a Nonprofit titled Learn it Together, which provides free virtual tutoring to middle and high school students. Her confirmation is scheduled for the Council meeting in June.
