Edna Yang

Edna Yang serves as the Co Executive Director at American Gateways, a position held since October 2002, where responsibility includes co-managing operations and supervising management teams across multiple offices. Previous roles include Deputy Director, Legal Director, and Staff Attorney at the Political Asylum Project of Austin, alongside current duties as General Counsel for the Texas Council on Family Violence since June 2003, and Contract Trainer conducting statewide trainings relating to immigration and family violence. Edna's experience extends internationally, having worked as a Visiting Professional at Community Law Wellington and Hutt Valley and the Legal Resources Centre, as well as monitoring the Charles Taylor trial at the Berkley War Crimes Studies Center. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, a Master's in International Studies, and a Bachelor's in Russian Language and Literature with Political Science from the University of Michigan.
